Each week, the Friday Club provides a friendly and informal day out in the Garden Room at Liston Hall.
The Club caters for up to 30 senior citizens who live in the Marlow area and enjoy company and entertainment as well as a tasty, freshly prepared lunch.
For those guests who require some help to get to and from Liston Hall, transport may be requested from the Club’s volunteer drivers.
On Friday morning, our guests start to arrive from 10:30am and are greeted with their choice of tea or coffee and plenty of biscuits. A selection of crosswords and word games is on offer for those who enjoy them, but there’s always someone to chat with if puzzles and reading aren’t your thing.
Every Thursday at 12.30 pm
£8 per person. Come and join like minded people for a 2 course lunch and a chat.
We aim to provide the best personal day care service with the utmost respect for our clients, employees, and those in the communities that we serve. Our primary goal is to maintain and enhance the quality of life and well-being of others, enhancing their potential to remain as independent as possible, for as long as possible.
The Centre caters for three separate groups of clients:
Elderly people who might be isolated, lonely or whose carers might need a break;
Adults with mild or moderate learning disabilities, and;
Those with mental health difficulties.
Anyone can refer someone with their consent to come to the centre, carer, family member, GP, health worker, neighbour or friend.

The Lantern Club Day Centre for the Elderly which meets each Monday in Holmer Green Village Hall, is a registered charity which was founded in 1990.
The Club can take a maximum of 14 members each week. The aim is to provide “time off” for their carers at the same time giving them a chance to socialise with other people.
Each Monday is taken up by various activities to stimulate both mind and body and we have regular exercise sessions, games, quizzes and most weeks musical or other entertainment. Our members are provided with refreshments and a hot meal at lunch time. Transport is also provided for those who need it.
The Lantern Club is entirely run by volunteers and needless to say new volunteers are always needed. Volunteers do not have to be trained but need to be able to empathise with older people.
