The new weight management medication ‘Tirzepatide’ (brand name Mounjaro®) is now available to NHS patients to support weight loss.
Approved by the NHS, Mounjaro® is a weight loss medication that is injected under the skin and helps to lower appetite. It comes in an easy-to-use pen that patients can use to administer weekly injections themselves. The medication works by activating natural receptors in the body that make you feel fuller after eating smaller amounts of food.
There will be a phased approach to service rollout within primary care settings, and initially, Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) will only be available on the NHS to those with the highest clinical need.

Our health & wellbeing coaches are trained ‘X-PERT Health’ educators and can offer an interactive, evidence-based programme that is suitable for those who have long-term health conditions and would like to reduce their weight and improve their general wellbeing.
Lifestyle changes are recommended alongside medication to improve overall health and well-being and to help maintain progress even after stopping medication. Our Health and Wellbeing coaches can advice on daily habits, such as making healthier food choices, increasing activity, managing stress and improving sleep quality, which help support long-term health. Our coaches also deliver the X-PERT evidence-based programme suitable for those with long-term health conditions who would like to reduce their weight and improve their general wellbeing.
